Galactic Time

Excerpt from: "A Terran Guide to the Intergalactic Lexicon".

Galactic

  1. (adj ter. eng.) - of or relating to a galaxy
"Inhabitants of the SOL system are typically unaware of galactic politics."
  2. (n ter. eng.) - standard communication system of the Virgo Galaxy Super-Cluster, including The Milky Way suburbs.
"Don't worry Areolus, Terrans rarely understand Galactic."

Time

  1. (n ter. eng.) - fourth coordinate of a point in space-time relative to the Universal origin.
"It's diffcult to get a firm grasp of time, since it's not expanding proportional to the other three coordinates."
  2. (v ter. eng.) - to deliberately expend life expectency and gain a reference point, thus marking and measuring a moment's significance.
"I dated a cronologist once; They're kinky: She timed me to the bed, then had her wait with me."
Your system's time is displayed below, in Galactic, measured in Pan-Universal Terran Years (PUTY).

Adjust display for proximity of STAR when in its direct line of sight.

PUTY represents the number of times SOL's 3rd planet would have completed a STAR orbit since the Great Experiment began if Earth had existed for the whole of existance and orbited at its current rate.

The current galactic time in English is: synchronizing...

"For the sake of sanity during my stay I created a cronograph to display the local time in a more familiar format.
The time system is synchronized to the STAR cycle of the SOL system.
I see no harm in exposing it to a few Terrans."
